Swarga Heritage Hotel is an art-inspired traditional stay in the heart of Kathmandu, Nepal. Born out of a deep passion to preserve Nepalese art, culture, and tradition, the hotel is most importantly a tribute to the original home where our founder was born.

‘Swarga’ means Heaven in Sanskrit, and we welcome you to our little heavenly oasis amidst the vibrant chaos of Thamel.

Swarga Heritage Hotel is nestled in the peaceful Jyatha area of Thamel. We are just a stone’s throw away from the best cafés, restaurants, shops, tour operators, taxi stands and the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

At Swarga, we’ve restored and revived heritage through salvaged wooden carvings, traditional windows, recycled paper lights, reused bricks, and terracotta tiles.

The hotel is a harmonious blend of traditional architecture and modern creature comforts. Our spacious rooms are filled with natural light and styled with an earthy palette, incorporating elements of Newari and Tibetan design philosophy.

  • Check-In & Check-Out

    Check-in: After 2:00 PM
    (Due to high occupancy, early check-in may not be possible. However, you're welcome to drop off your luggage at reception and relax in our in-house café or explore the neighborhood while your room is being prepared.)

    Check-out: Before 12:00 PM
    (You're welcome to store your luggage after checkout and enjoy lunch, a stroll, or a drink in our café until your departure.)

  • House Rules

    No parties allowed.

    Quiet hours: Please keep noise to a minimum after 10:00 PM to ensure all guests enjoy a peaceful stay.

    Our property is not suitable for late-night partygoers or loud groups.

    All rooms are strictly non-smoking.
    Smoking is permitted only in designated areas such as the terrace or outdoor courtyard.
    (Smoking in rooms will incur a cleaning fee of $100.)

  • Heritage Notes

    As a restored traditional heritage property, we do not have elevators.
    The building is only four floors high, and our staff will gladly assist with your luggage.

    We’ve preserved many original features, including old wooden doors and large traditional windows.
    While they may allow some ambient noise, they also welcome natural light and fresh air.
    Fortunately, we are located away from Thamel’s noisy clubs and bars, ensuring a quieter stay.

  • Airport Transfers

    Local taxi from airport: Approx. $10 (day) / $15 (night).

    For added comfort and ease, we can arrange a private hotel car to pick you up:
